Mouvement Social
(Tape & Piano)

Mouvement Social is based on a field recording from a Paris Métro station. This recording was electronically processed using a spectral freezing patch and then played directly into a grand piano live onstage. The speakers rest directly on top of the metal piano plate. The piano’s sympathetic resonances (including the strings and soundboard) echo and enhance the spectral freezing process. It was performed in Paris.
