About Tom Gurin
Tom Gurin is an American composer, multimedia artist, and carillonist based in Geneva. His past residencies include the Cité internationale des arts in Paris (2023-24) and the joint Fulbright-Harriet Hale Woolley Award at the United States Foundation in Paris, where he worked on music and sculpture. Following his Fulbright Award, he was a Hays-Brandeis Fellow while building an installation inspired by French bells and bell towers. He is a Fellow of the Belgian-American Educational Foundation.
After graduating from the Royal Carillon School in Belgium in 2019, Gurin served as Duke University Chapel Carillonneur until returning to Europe in 2021.
He studied composition at Yale University, the École Normale de Musique de Paris, and privately with Allain Gaussin. He is currently a master’s student in mixed and multimedia composition at the Haute École de Musique de Genève studying with Gilbert Nouno and Luis Naón.
