Carillon: a musical instrument composed of 23 or more tuned bronze bells connected to a double keyboard that allows expression through variation of touch via manual batons and foot pedals.

Gurin served as Duke University Chapel Carillonneur from 2019-2021. In 2021, he consulted on and performed the dedicatory recital for the new carillon at North Carolina State University.

He won first prize in the 2022 Perpignan (France) Carillon Composition Competition. Several of his carillon works have been published by the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America and by Beiaardcentrum Nederland.

Gurin graduated “With Great Distinction” from the Royal Carillon School of Belgium as a United States Fellow of the Belgian American Educational Foundation. He co-chaired the Yale University Guild of Carillonneurs and has been a member of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America since 2017.
